Getting Started

Prerequisites

You will need the following for this tutorial:

  • A Mac with Xcode.

  • An iPhone connected to the Mac.

  • An Apple Account that is 18 years old or above.

Configure Xcode

  1. Click on the blue .xcodeproj file at the top of your file directory in Xcode.

  2. Click on your app name under "Targets".

  3. Head into "Signing & Certificate".

  4. If you haven't done so, click "Add Account" and sign in with an Apple Account that is 18 years old or above.

  5. Select your Personal Team under the Team dropdown.

Prepare your iPhone

  1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac with a cable.

  2. If prompted, click "Trust" on both the iPhone and your Mac.

  3. Select your iPhone as the run destination in Xcode.

Running your App

  1. Click on the "play" button to run your app (or use Command-R).

  2. If prompted, enter your Mac's password, then click "Always Allow".

  3. Click "Cancel" on the "Untrusted Developer" alerts on both your iPhone and Mac.

  4. Head into Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

  5. Under the "Developer App" section, click on the profile with your Apple Account email.

  6. Click "Trust", then "Allow" to trust your app.

  7. Head back to your Home Screen, then launch your app.

  8. You may now disconnect your iPhone from your Mac, if you wish to.
